Taylor Swift Becomes Artist With The Most Wins at AMAs; Joins Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Dan + Shay With 3 Wins at 2020 AMAs



The 2020 American Music Awards (AMAs) took place in Los Angeles, California in spectacular version bringing electrifying performances, glitz and glamour of celebrity lifestyle, unguessable but favourable surprises and of course winners of awards all in one night to the world of pop culture yesterday night.

The night will be one for the books for pop star, Taylor Swift as she becomes first artiste to win a breathtaking 32 AMAs, including the 3 she won for the night, seeing her take home the most precious Artist of the Year award.

The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Duo, Dan + Shay also saw themselves receive 3 awards each. Record setting and groundbreaking artistes, all the way from Asia, BTS, continue to exercise dominance over 2020 music chart by gathering 2 wins, alongside Nicki Minaj, Latin act – Bad Bunny and recipient of New Artist of the Year – Doja Cat.

The show was hosted by decorated actor, Taraji P. Henson and graced with brilliant performances by rap icon – Nelly, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Ellish, Jennifer Lopez and Maluma among a wide array of celebrities.

“Carpe Diem” sets Boomplay record for most streamed project with 26 million streams



Nigerian veteran rapper, Olamide ‘Baddo’ Adedeji sets Boomplay record with his most recent album — Carpe Diem — with the album becoming the most streamed project on the music streaming platform by gaining 26 million streams.

Carpe Diem the rap LP was released on 7 October 2020, becoming Olamide’s eleventh studio album and the foremost project by the rapper under American distribution company – Empire Distribution.

Olamide have also released various singles off the album, including “Loading” featuring Bad Boy Timz, “Infinity” featuring Omah Lay, “Greenlight”, “Triumphant” featuring Bella Shmurda amongst others; individual songs gaining millions streams each on Boomplay and across other music streaming platforms.

Carpe Diem will also be Olamide’s consecutive project to his “999” EP in 2020, making it the first time Olamide will drop back to back projects in a single calendar year.

Wizkid drops “Ginger” video featuring Burna Boy



Starboy Entertainment boss, Wizkid drops the highly favoured and anticipated visuals to “Ginger” featuring Burna Boy off his “Made In Lagos” album.

The music video to “Ginger” is shot by renowned cinematographer, Meji Alabi of JM Films which features Wizkid and Burna Boy surrounded by beautiful vixens while singing the lyrics to their song.

Wizkid actually teased this video last week and as promised he has dropped it, much to the delight of lovers of his music and fans, who are known by the clan-name — Wizkid FC.

“Ginger” is an Afro-infused Pop song with lyrics gravitating towards the female gender whom Wizkid and Burna Boy are ready to get loved up with, if she shows any advances towards them.

The song is the second track off “Made In Lagos” and is produced by P2J and has amassed over 50 million plus streams across streaming platforms as a single.

“We were actually friends” Cuppy reacts 10 months after Zlatan Ibile blocked her on all social media platforms



One of Africa’s biggest Disk Jockey (DJ), Cuppy in an early morning tweet, yes as early as 12:54 AM, decided to let the steam of her a little bit and revealed what no one would have guessed.

She said popular street-hop rapper, Zlatan Ibile blocked her across social media for reasons unknown to her, despite both of them collaborating on their hit single “Gelato” release in 2019.

Cuppy also made known that prior to her getting blocked by Zlatan Ibile, they had a cordial close relationship, stating: “we were actually friends.” She also said it has been 10 months but she “still wonder(s)” why he chose to act that way towards her.
