Show Dem Camp’s “Clone Wars Vol. 5: The Algorhythm” is here!

Olumide “Ghost” Ayeni and Wale “Tec” Davies of Nigeria’s legendary rap duo—Show Dem Camp—release the fifth series in the ‘Clone Wars’ series tagged—The Algorhythm.

According to Tec, ‘Clone Wars’ series was born out of the fact that there were many clones in the society like religion, tribalism, money and “everything was sounding the same” he told Apple Music, adding “Clone Wars for us became less about the music industry being clones, but observing all the clones and the clone behaviour in our society.

Clone Wars Vol. 5: The Algorhythm continues to Show Dem Camp’s exploration of rapping social-political concious lyrics over highlife, alté, hip-hop and R&B productions. Initially slated to be a 16-track album but turned out to have one less, making 15 in total as Tec of SDC revealed they couldn’t clear “All the Above” samples could not be cleared on time but they have proceeded to release it on Audiomack and made a video (sort of) for it on their Instagram.

Frequently featured acts—Tomi Thomas (twice) and LadiPoe, indigenous rap phenom—Reminisce, Mojo, acclaimed rapper and vocalist—Jesse Jagz, Tomi Owo, musician and sound engineer—Alpha Ojini, Ogranya, Shalom Dubrs and Moss all graced the album with their dope verses.

Kid Konnect, Spax, T.U.C, Toyin Ores and some few others were recruited to work on Clone Wars Vol. 5: The Algorhythm as producers while all tracks were sound engineered by Spax.

Falz is back with club themed song—“Mercy”—produced by Sess “the problem kid”

Falz and first choice producer, Sess join heads once again to make a club banger, Mercy being the title, a song about girls made for the girls.

With such lyrics: “She dey kill me with the shake / She got jiggle for days”, “That mini skirt that you’re wearing / Is making your body very commandeering”, Falz clearly shows he is a big bunda guy, one who is fully mesmerized by the behind of gorgeous ladies.

Although being minimalist on the track, Falz captures the hearts of listeners by his deep voiced vocals while giving Sess bouncy beat gets enough breathing space so as to fill up the room with party ‘turnt up’ vibes.

“World” singer, Bella Shmurda was asked a very interesting question which says: “Aside from singing, what other talent do you have?” to which he gave an answer no one would have guessed, not even Albert Einstein! The answer?

The reply Bella Shmurda gave to the question above can be found on Nigerian dancer, influencer and close associate to the Dagbana Republik artiste page—Poco Lee—which he shared on his IG Reels. Bella’s response is nothing short of wonder, he said: “I think my talent is thinking. I can think from now till tomorrow.” Bella says with a serious deep face countenance.

DRB Lasgidi Teezee is featured alongside Kid Cudi on Skepta’s upcoming EP; J Balvin also has a guest spot

Yes, Skepta did say he was retiring from rap but one thing he cleared was the fact he had about 5 or 6 songs he wanted to put out there before it’s all said and done musically and that he is fulfilling by releasing a new EP which title is unknown as of now.

Skepta answers a question pertaining to his retirement from rap.

The EP consist of 5 tracks with the second track—“Peace of Mind”—featuring one-third of Nigerian Alté-Pop trio, Teezee of DRB Lasgidi and American rapper, Kid Cudi while J Balvin is featured on “Nirvana”, the third record from the project.

The art shows Skepta in a dark room with partial lighting reflecting on his left face revealing so much focus in the eyes of the legendary MC.

The dates of release for Skepta’s upcoming EP is also unknown as of now. Skepta posted the tracklist to his new EP without a single word of caption, leaving fans to guess what’s next in his musical journey.
