LadiPoe releases new EP, “Providence”, featuring Rema, Fireboy and Amaarae

Published

on

Keeping the fire burning after releasing two impressive singles in 2021, LadiPoe unleashes his debut EP—”Providence”—featuring top artistes in Rema (“Afro Jigga”) and R&B/Pop stars, Fireboy DML (“Running”) and Amaarse (“Love Essential”) using mellow productions to explain his view on issues relating to relationships, his current mindstate while hopping on a more upbeat instrumental on the Rema-assisted second track.

Ladipoe is known for making songs centred around himself and personal experiences, most times than none, choosing to abstain from painting abstract lyrics on a white canvass. This he did to the best of his abilities on Providence – on “LOTR II”, wordplays intertwined with punchlines are used as bragging tools to show how much he is focused on making money and minding his business; “Afro Jigga” continues the bragging, on it, LadiPoe and Rema sing about getting girls and having fun; on the remaining 4 tracks, he becomes more personal and reflective.

You would definitely love listening to LadiPoe on Providence.

2021 breakthrough artiste, CKay, is not letting his foot off the pedal yet, putting out two new singles, one of which is titled “By Your Side” featuring South African vocalist and rapper, Blxckie.

“By Your Side” production starts slow with CKay gliding his smooth R&B-toned vocals on the well paced drumbeat intertwined with violin sound, singing to his love interest about how she makes him loose himself anytime he is around her and how she is always on his mind.

Gradually the instrumentation gains pace, giving room for a more lively mood and of course, dancing, as the most sought after Amapiano sound is blended with the production; Blxckie woukd eventually come on, singing a little, before spitting some bars in his native mother tongue.

“By Your Side” is produced by Tumisho. Listen:

American legendary rapper and business mogul, JAY-Z, adds 3 Nigerian songs to his playlist curated on Tidal, a streaming platform owned majorly by him. The 3 songs are: Free Mind, Mood and Feeling.

Free Mind is sung by Tems, taken from her 2020 released EP – “For Broken Ears”, the third track to be precise; although no solo song by Buju made it to the JAY-Z playlist titled “Block Vibes”, he would however be the most featured Nigerian act on the playlist as he lands two songs, thanks to the mega features from Wizkid—Mood—and arguably one Nigeria’s song of the year in Feeling by LadiPoe.

You can view the full playlist curated by JAY-Z in the picture below:

Dawie is taking the bulls by its horn a beat after the other

On the 5th of October 2019, Northboi called out four times Grammy nominee and one time winner Wizkid for not giving him due credit for producing his song Joro, the issue lead to a social media outburst with rival fans fueling the fire, while Wizkid’s loyalist were playing defense, two years after, the problem still persists, most Nigerian producers are under paid, despite having a lot of hit songs to there name, this was Dawie’s first nightmare, creating a non existent sound from idea to execution is no small feat, now seeing that beat go viral isn’t another small feat, but if I don’t make anything off it, what’s the essence? Those were the rhetorical questions Dawie asked before he furthered, “the music industry is like a big ecosystem where there are a lot of relationships from commensalism to parasitism, a lot of people live off others work, while a lot of people collaborate to make things work for each other, the industry isn’t as easy as it seems to navigate, despite the facts that there are no laid down rules, there are a lot of rules” – the producer said sipping his chi exotic viewing landmark beach while trying to bring out a small folder from his back pack, what’s that i asked? It’s a small folder where I pen down my thoughts, it helps my creative process a lot, what’s why I love staying at the seaside, the calm effect it give me, makes me focused on what i am doing, he responded while wearing a small smile.

Unlike many producers, Dawie takes legal actions seriously, he said that’s what has saved him from a lot of “industry wahala” when asked the total numbers of songs he has produced, he smiled you are asking me which of my babies I love best ? I have produced alot, and I will produce alot more.
