Killertunes leaves a wonderful impression on the listeners hearts with debut “KillaXtra” album

Published

on

Maestro producer Killertunes explores to the fullest his songwriting and vocalist potentials with the release of the midtempo sulty-sung debut album—KillaXtra. He calls on Psycho YP, Lyta, Minz, Nissi, Kida Kudz, Midas the Jagaban, Afrobros, , Sha Sha, LikeMike to assist with vocals and Walshy Fire comes through with production credit.

Apart from Killertunes’ clear vocals on the tracks, another thing stands out and that’s KillaXtra‘s recurrent Afrobeat production made evident with the use of the brilliantly played blown and the signatrue beat of the drums.

KillaXtra gives off summer vibes via its sensual lyrics and midtempo to almost slow pace of the tracks, 13 in total, blissfully about women and the love he gets from being with them with diversification in lyricism coming in form of the grateful themed intro “Sure 4U” and the reflective “Bite Me” outro tracks; they both focus on Killertunes’ ability to soar above hate and doubt from friends and foes, how he has music to show he can achieve whatever he sets his mind and how God always crowns his effort (in the case of the “Sure 4U”).

All the featured artistes also brought their best to the table, matching Killer’s aura on their respective tracks, singing gracefully about the loving they get from the opposite sex. In all, Killertunes made sure to leave a wonderful impression on the listener’s heart with the first listen of his debut album on the music scene, showing he is not only good with his hands but can also do the talking if called upon, rhythmically at that.

Ladies and gents, KillaXtra:

Olakira finally acquires a Maserati

Published

on

Olakira who released the catchy groundbreaking hit single last year June titled In My Maserati, a song which had him show off his wooing skills but unlike the cheesy pick-up line go-to used by other guys, Olakira flexed and simply asked the girl to “Hop in my Maserati”. The song even became more of a hit when Davido jumped on it, adding a verse to the remix, which was simplified as Maserati, instead of it’s original three-word title.

It is September of 2021, a year and 3 months since the original release of Olakira’s debut hit single and what better way to celebrate the blessings that came forth from it, than buy spoiling himself. Olakira does this by actually acquiring a Maserati car for himself.

The blue coloured speed beauty, a Maserati Lavante Hybrid 2021 model costs about $78,290 (USD) (according to car.usnews.com), an approximate 32,216,335.00 in naira; Olakira captions this “A dream come through, we rave in a maserati now!!

Since Maserati, Olakira has gone on to release other singles including his sophomore EP—”4play”—in May of this year. Congratulations to him.

With quite a number of commendable EPs to her name, Bella Alubo decides it is finally time for her to release her grand LP—Bella Buffet—served on a large dining table with a host of options to devour from its ‘Appetizers’ (tracks 1-3), ‘Soups’ (tracks 4-6), ‘Specials’ (7-10), ‘Salad’ (11-14) and finally the ‘Desserts’ (song 15-17).

With her debut LP, Bella “Bentley” Alubo tries stepping out of her comfort zone and experiments with numerous genres of music and speaks on quite a few subject matter, complimentary of her debut album’s title. Allow me list some out:

• Metaphorically euphemised comical reaggae dancehall jam wherein she boldly declares her love for “Plantain”.
• Hiphop cheesy girl-anthem “YBM” Sxdan and veteran rapper, Ice Prince
• Afro-house godmother Niniola hops on South African amapiano themed “Location”.
• East african makossa “Little Bum Bum” piques listeners interest in dancing, providing the right ambiance for it.
• Traditional jamaican reggae production captions the blunt honesty on “White Lies”.
• Afro R&B “Green Eyed Monster” with Keziah Mallam.
• Classic R&B on “Options”.
• Highlife “Know You” with Dremo who experiments with emo rap.
• Electronic Syn X produced pop rhythm—”Only You”.
• In contrast to the regret filled “Table for Two”, Bella mood lights up while singing about her ex on “Reputation”.
• Moody “New Rage”.
• Shares her mama advice about love being two-sided on ode to motherly love with “Mama Said”.

Syn X, Quebeat, Lordknowz and Tuan Malik helped in cooking the beat on the tasty menu for Bella Buffet; Alubo is accredited as the primary songwriter alongside the featured artistes including Zoro, Blaqbonez, Dapo Tuburna etc.

Ycee returns with new single, “Aunty Lovina” featuring Patoranking

Published

on

Ain’t Nobody Badder Than (ANBT) rapper, Ycee is back from a short hiatus from the music scene, jumping on the trendy Amapiano sound on Aunty Lovina featuring Patoranking.

Aunty Lovina should go on to become a club banger as the upbeat drumbeat and Amapiano infused production will surely have listeners bumping their head to Patoranking’s catchy “Bring dat body na / Make I rocky na / Aunty Lovina / If you give me na / I go shoot in na / Like a Benzema” hook before Ycee’s braggadocious first verse where he states he has got real estates, the Midas touch, the meanest flow and him being distinct from everyone else amongst others.

On his second verse though, Ycee leaves bragging for what it is worth, focusing on swaying Aunty Lovina to become his lover, he raps: “Ah Aunty Lovina/ Come make we chill, make we chop dinner / Me I wan sip from your Maltina / Understand me I no be buttey na / Make I shoot my shot make I bussina”, although not forcefully, ending with the closing remark: “And if e be no e be no / E be yes e be yes” but like the playboy he is, Ycee has no time for whining, “Then it’s on to the next flex“, he says gracefully.

You should listen to the track:
