Temilade “Tems” Openiyi puts out her second EP—If Orange Was A Place—filled with 5 songs and just one feature, the second song, “Found” with Brent Faiyaz while Guilty Beatz, produces all tracks except the third, where Jonah Christian brings his expertise on.

On If Was A Place, Tems continues her distinctive ride of the R&B/Soul wave using her outstanding voice as the surf board (as it were), speaking on experiences she has had to go through, expressing her opinions on matters bothering her with a constant theme of wanting to stay out of trouble and finding peace, “Crazy Things”, “Avoid Things” and “Vibe Out” are emblematic representatives of these thoughts and opinions of Tems’ mind state on her sophomore EP.

All tracks are written by Tems, with the assistance of Brent Faiyaz on the song he was featured on; Spax sound engineers the project by mixing and mastering the 5 tracks. It appears majority of the EP was recorded in Ghana when Tems went visiting but track 2 was recorded in Los Angeles, USA.

Killertunes leaves a wonderful impression on the listeners hearts with debut “KillaXtra” album

Published

on

Maestro producer Killertunes explores to the fullest his songwriting and vocalist potentials with the release of the midtempo sulty-sung debut album—KillaXtra. He calls on Psycho YP, Lyta, Minz, Nissi, Kida Kudz, Midas the Jagaban, Afrobros, , Sha Sha, LikeMike to assist with vocals and Walshy Fire comes through with production credit.

Apart from Killertunes’ clear vocals on the tracks, another thing stands out and that’s KillaXtra‘s recurrent Afrobeat production made evident with the use of the brilliantly played blown and the signatrue beat of the drums.

KillaXtra gives off summer vibes via its sensual lyrics and midtempo to almost slow pace of the tracks, 13 in total, blissfully about women and the love he gets from being with them with diversification in lyricism coming in form of the grateful themed intro “Sure 4U” and the reflective “Bite Me” outro tracks; they both focus on Killertunes’ ability to soar above hate and doubt from friends and foes, how he has music to show he can achieve whatever he sets his mind and how God always crowns his effort (in the case of the “Sure 4U”).

All the featured artistes also brought their best to the table, matching Killer’s aura on their respective tracks, singing gracefully about the loving they get from the opposite sex. In all, Killertunes made sure to leave a wonderful impression on the listener’s heart with the first listen of his debut album on the music scene, showing he is not only good with his hands but can also do the talking if called upon, rhythmically at that.

Ladies and gents, KillaXtra:
