Joeboy is in “Celebration” mood in latest visuals

Joseph Akinwale Akinfewa-Donus, known popularly as Joeboy shares the music video to his latest single — “Celebration”.

Dammy Twitch had the honours of shooting the beautiful video for “Celebration” which is basically as the title implies, all involved are in vibrant mood and having a joyous time.

On the costume and setting of the video which pays homage to the Yoruba heritage, Joeboy says: “This video is all about having fun and being happy” to which he continues: “I wanted to pay homage to my origins and do something with traditional colours.”

Rappers Blaqbonez and Laycon made cameo appearances, Fast-rising acts – Jimi Abduls and CKay – also had their fair share of cameo appearances.

“Celebration” as Joeboy puts it: “aims at uplifting listeners during a season, that it a normal year would be reserved for festive gatherings.”

“Hits all 2021” — Davido assures fans

OBO Baddest, Davido who at this stage in his career can be regarded as serial hitmaker, continues to reassure of fans of his primary mission, music wise i.e. producing hit singles, one after another.

In a post on his official Twitter page – @davido – where he is seen donning a flashy blazer with lacing around it and on the sleeves while holding a mic, he captions it: “Hits all 2021” getting fans on-board with his plans for the new year, yet not saying much.

Davido is also rumored to have shot the videos for “The Best” with Mayorkun, causing a lot of tension and anticipation among his fans, popularly called — 30BG; he also confirmed the videos for “Birthday Cake” featuring American rap legend, Nas and one of the most streamed songs off of his latest album, “A Better Time”, “Holy Ground” featuring Nicki Minaj have been shot but none have seen the light of day yet.

If any of those videos should eventually get a release date, they will all prove to be hits but Davido might have other plans in mind which might pertain to dropping another album or a bunch of singles but that we do not yet.

Olamide becomes the first African rapper to surpass 100 million streams on Audiomack

Olamide Adedeji, simply called Olamide career wise, continue to show his magnificence over the Nigerian rap sector of the music industry. His 2020 released album — Carpe Diem — has surpassed over 100 million streams on Audiomack, becoming the first African rapper to achieve such feat.

Carpe Diem, Olamide’s tenth studio-album in eleven years was released last year on the 7th of October and immediately started gaining tractions and streams upon release, pushing it to positive reviews from many music critics.

Carpe Diem is also the only Hip-Hop/Rap Nigerian and African album and sixth overall to surpass the 100 million streams mark on Audiomack, joining:
Twice as Tall – Burna Boy
A Better Time – Davido
A Good Time – Davido
Get Layd – Omah Lay
Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps – Fireboy DML

Wizkid’s “Come Closer” is certified Platinum by Music Canada, becoming the first Afrobeat song to achieve that milestone

Wizkid keeps reaching and creating milestones upon the sands of time of the Nigerian music industry and Africa at large, cementing himself as one of the greatest musicians, Africa has ever had. His 2017 single, “Come Closer” recently got certified as Platinum according to Music Canada standards.

For a record to become Platinum by Music Canada, it must have or have surpassed 40,000 units in sales and this Wizkid’s March 31, 2017 released single with Canadian-born Drake titled “Come Closer” clearly accomplish and is duly certified as one.

This makes it Wizkid’s first Platinum certified single and the first Afrobeat song to achieve such milestone.
