Jonathan Mensah, known by his producer name and tag, Jae5, recruits UK rap icon, Skepta, and young music talent out of Nigeria, Rema, for retrospective single—Dimension.

Dimension hook is voiced by Rema with Skepta delivering to-match rap verses in his acclaimed OG style.

Rema sings on the chorus on how he will continue delivering hits as nothing can stop him because he his from another dimension, noting that is the only way he can provide for his families amidst the many adversities he is faced with, including some of his close associates being locked up, “Some of my bruddas there, we deh serve time / They wanna be free, they all wanna see the sunlight” Rema sings.

Skepta on his first verse speak on the bougie lifestyle potrayed by today’s youth on the internet and how detrimental it can get – girls doing the most to make ends meet (“Man it’s gettin’ ugly, still I look for the beauty / Girl sellin’ the coochie for the Gucci”); others getting robbed for being too flashy which might eventually leading to loss of lives (“Get robbed for your carti, with the little Uzi / Bruddas shootin’ clips like an action movie”), [And this ain’t gonna change overnight, it’s deep-rooted (Oh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh) / Flashbacks of dead bodies and gunshots”] while also speaking on how difficult it is to find true love in today’s materialistic world (“But bruddas ain’t seen no love, they need cupid”) admitting all these made him a changed man (“Can’t lie, man, I ain’t the same brudda that I once was”).

On the second verse, he raps about feeling the pain of the youth – “can hear the yutes cry, I’m feelin’ so helpless” – ending it with words of advice to the yutes: “You can be a star or you can end up a patient”.

Rema picks up right from where Skepta left, choosing to offer a prayer for guidance to his Creator – “Oh, Father forgive me, my sins / I reminisce all the things I’ve done / Oh, please put me under your wings / I sit and pray, may my mandem live long / . . . Jah love gon’ take us higher”.

Jae5 on his part continues the amazing run and job weldone associated with his name by hooking up Rema and Skepta with just the perfect instrumentals to match their flow, a mid-tempo beat with strings in the background.

Directed by Ebenezer Blanche, Dimension was shot in Ghana (parent country of Jae5), where the river, traditional African attires and other sorts of aesthetics help to breathe life to the lyrics while making for a quality screentime.
