“Having to create records that are life changing is one of life’s greatest gift to humanity” Joeboy says as he unveils ‘Somewhere Between Beauty and Magic’ tracklist

Nigerian Pop singer, Joseph Akinwale Akinfewa-Donus, better known as Joeboy unveils the tracklist to his debut album — Somwhere Between Beauty and Magic — tracklist to be released on February 4.

The album contains 14 tracks, with two pre-released tracks in Lonely and Celebration which videos have both been shot and released to increase the anticipation for the album.

This will be Joeboy’s second project since emerging as one of 2019 breakout star and music sensation, coming off the success of his debut EP – ‘Love & Light’ – which was released same year.

From the tracklist, no features is noted, so it is unclear if Joeboy has secret plans of having features on the project but chose not to cite them on Somewhere Between Beauty and Magic tracklist to surprise fans.

Announcing the album, Joeboy penned: “Having to create records that are life changing is one of life’s greatest gifts to humanity. I’ve lived in the music to a point where I found myself immersed in all of it’s rhythm.
I present to you my Debut album “Somewhere Between Beauty and Magic” #SBBM
It’s beautiful.”

The official album cover artwork has Joeboy seated on a rock by the waters of a beach, staring into space while on the tracklist artwork, Joeboy stands on the rock still gazing into space but this time around, he’s body is edited in silhouette form but the clothes are still very much clear.

Zlatan features DMW’s Davido & Mayorkun on new dance record “Cho Cho”

Zlatan aka Zlatan Ibile features DMW powerhouse Davido and protégé Mayorkun on new single—Cho Cho—produced by P Priime.

Cho Cho is a dance record with samples of Amapiano beat in the instrumental and very upbeat. Zlatan, Mayorkun and Davido made sure to saturate the filler track with a lot of yourba slangs and imply Cho Cho being a new dance in their lyrics, “ji jo chokiri cho cho”.

On the track all artistes involved made sure to reaffirm the fact they will not tolerate any form of disrespect or belittling from opposers, stating they would make sure to show their true colours while making such ones do the Cho Cho dance.

Cheque and Fireboy DML drop the video to the trending collab, History where they play the roles of college basketball stars which attracts rivalry for them from opposition team fans.

The storyline of the video continues, Cheque and Fireboy are on their way home when attacked by angry mob supposedly from the opposition team but were able to successfully confront the mob and leave without a scratch but as time passes by, Cheque gets shot in a drive-by when a close associates gives up his location.

“My dream collab would have been with Bob Marley and Fela” – Wizkid

Nigerian music mega star, Wizkid in a ‘quick fire’ question round with JD, answered some questions pertaining to his music career and personal life and he did make sure to make it spicy.

When asked on whether an album would drop anytime soon, Wizkid teased by answering, “Next album dropping soon (laughs). When I’m done recording it.” He also shared how “eventful” 2020 was for him and the inspiration behind his fashion style, also adding it was fun growing up with 12 sisters.

“Who is your dream collab?”, the question asked, to which Wizkid responded, “My dream collab would have been with Bob Marley and Fela but they are not here now, so yeah, I would have loved to make records with them.”

Although, sadly, Reggae icon Bob Marley and Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti are dead, Wizkid might have fulfilled the fantasy of his dream collab through their heirs in Damian Marley (“Blessed”) and Femi Kuti (“Jaiye Jaiye”).
