Billionaire Nigerian socialite Mompha pays visit to just released Nigerian influencer Adeherself according to videos circulating online, the emotional young influencer was seen hugging Mompha. Few weeks ago Mompha won the economic financial crime commission in the court of law invalidating his previous arrest and his properties which was frozen was released.

Olamide becomes the first African rapper to surpass 100 million streams on Audiomack

Olamide Adedeji, simply called Olamide career wise, continue to show his magnificence over the Nigerian rap sector of the music industry. His 2020 released album — Carpe Diem — has surpassed over 100 million streams on Audiomack, becoming the first African rapper to achieve such feat.

Carpe Diem, Olamide’s tenth studio-album in eleven years was released last year on the 7th of October and immediately started gaining tractions and streams upon release, pushing it to positive reviews from many music critics.

Carpe Diem is also the only Hip-Hop/Rap Nigerian and African album and sixth overall to surpass the 100 million streams mark on Audiomack, joining:
Twice as Tall – Burna Boy
A Better Time – Davido
A Good Time – Davido
Get Layd – Omah Lay
Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps – Fireboy DML

Wizkid’s “Come Closer” is certified Platinum by Music Canada, becoming the first Afrobeat song to achieve that milestone

Wizkid keeps reaching and creating milestones upon the sands of time of the Nigerian music industry and Africa at large, cementing himself as one of the greatest musicians, Africa has ever had. His 2017 single, “Come Closer” recently got certified as Platinum according to Music Canada standards.

For a record to become Platinum by Music Canada, it must have or have surpassed 40,000 units in sales and this Wizkid’s March 31, 2017 released single with Canadian-born Drake titled “Come Closer” clearly accomplish and is duly certified as one.

This makes it Wizkid’s first Platinum certified single and the first Afrobeat song to achieve such milestone.

Before I started singing, “I was actually a rapper” — Omah Lay

2020 breakout music star from Nigeria, Stanley Omah Didia, better known professionally as Omah Lay granted an interview with American magazine – Teen Vogue – speaking on music, life and the #EndSARS protest which took the country by storm last year.

Omah who got his mainstream breakthrough with his debut project, an EP with the title – “Get Layd” – revealed he was not too sure on how much people would gravitate towards his style of music which he tags “Omah Lay Music”. When asked if he had any fears about his debut EP, he told Teen Vogue: “Actually before I put out Get Layd I wasn’t sure if it’ll be accepted. I wasn’t so confident about it but I enjoyed making the project.” but said he put it out nonetheless because he liked what he created and those around him were supportive and also enjoyed his music.

Speaking on why he chose to use his social media as a voice for help during the massive #EndSARS protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), he revealed he had had three different tormenting encounters with the SARS force; one back at Porth Harcourt and the remaining two in Lagos, one of which he barely survived because some people recognised his face because of his music.

He added he his still very much devastated from the October 20, 2020 Lekki Massacre, “ I honestly can’t say I’ve gotten over the #LekkiMassacare and I don’t [think] I’ll ever get over it. I still dream about it, write lyrics about it”, Omah Lay discloses.

Omah Lay who also happen to be a music producer, with production credits on his own personal songs — “Bad Influence”, “Confessions”, “Damn” — and a few others, shockingly reveals: “I’ve been a producer for a very long time. I was actually a rapper, then I switched to being a music producer and I did just that for about three years.”

While sadly admitting, nowadays he barely has anytime to produce his own personal music, talk more of producing for others. Stating his primary focus right now is own making his album which is to be released in 2021 (but no date is set yet).
