Davido and Burna Boy reportedly had a rumpus at Ghana; Twitter users react with humour and memes

Davido and Burna Boy reportedly fought at a club in Ghana yesterday night

Published

on

Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy were reportedly spotted at the same club yesterday night in Ghana but it was the two latter who were said to have engaged in actions causing rumpus at the scene.

A video circulating the internet shows David Adeleke aka Davido been escorted out of that particular scene of the club, probably to a new space and according to the video, we can see Davido dragging with the guards as if he still had a bone to pick with whoever he had disagreements with at that moment but for some reasons, rumours circulating the internet is that the person Davido was ‘fighting’ at that instance is no other than Burna Boy; the video evidence as of now however does not point to that.

Adding humour to the video, is StarBoy Wizkid sipping from his bottle of alcoholic beverage, not interfering in whatever was going on between Davido, the guards and whoever he had beef with.

This has prompted a lot memes from Nigerians on popular social media app — Twitter, as they use it as an opportunity to catch cruise and make light of the situation. These are some select picks out of the many memes and reactions to the story:

Davido and Burna Boy are well known for providing hits, well this makes sense now.

The puns in these tweets should be framed and put in a museum. Okay, just kidding but there is no denying their intuitiveness:

Wizkid was not exempted from the cruise catching and meme-ing either, as tweeps used him as an example of a peaceful being and an easy going person:

Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay caught in a heated argument at the salon (video); here might be why

Published

on

It was a rainy cool day (at least in most part of the country) until a video surfaced online via popular media head and influencer, Tunde Ednut’s page of female Nigerian singers, Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay in a very heated argument over what seems to be a matter of disrespect coming from the latter.

From the video embedded above, it’s obvious that “Mummy Jam Jam” Tiwa Savage felt slighted in the manner of approach Seyi Shay tried using in greeting her. Although it wasn’t recorded, it appeared Seyi Shay had walked up to Tiwa Savage in a bid to exchange pleasantries, even saying “Hi” in the process but Tiwa was not having it; immediately ceasing the moment to call out her fellow Nigerian artiste for disrespecting her via her (i.e Seyi Shay’s) music and in many interviews.

You say you be my sister but you wan collect my lover / You be deceiver, olofofo heart-robber / Na why I no dey f–k with you anymore / I no dey die for you anymore / You know I’m not savage, I dey pay my bills” were Sheyi Shay’s exact lyrics in a song she released some years back, in which she covered Kizz Daniel’s “Fvck You”, apparently calling out Tiwa Savage for trying to “collect [her] lover” even name-dropping Tiwa’s maiden last name—Savage—and ex-husband, Tee Billz.

That might have been the root cause of the rift between Tiwa and Seyi at the salon which turned into all sorts of name calling and slut-shaming from both parties as can be seen from the video embedded below.

Tomi Thomas sticks to his working formula on “Hopeless Romantic” EP (review)

Published

on

Tomi Thomas refuses to bow to the pressuring mainstream influence, sticking to the working formula, a niche he has carved for himself, a lane where Alternative and R&B music dwells peacefully which on occasions, might visit other genres but the stay never lasts longer than intended.

Hopeless Romantic is a continual reminder of Tomi Thomas’ musical brilliance, softcore blended with recurring high rising vocals on well selected plush productions or instrumentals. His pen game never ceases to amaze listeners too.

Tomi Thomas brings the emotions to the amusement park, tagging for a soulful but quite joyous emotional-rollercoaster ride on his most recent EP, Hopeless Romantic.

On Hopeless Romantic, Tomi Thomas kept the lyrics as intrinsic as possible, just as suggested by the title of the project, reflecting on why love is hard to come by despite the effort he has put into looking for a lasting one in form of a relationship; he expressed it better on second song and title track – “Hopeless Romantic” – when he said: “On my own / So many days on my own / No credit on my phone / Im just a hopeless romantic / On my own”.

Echoing same message on the hook of “Waiting”, Tomi says: “True love doesn’t leave in the morning / I said no no no no” complementing it on the next verse, “Got me under lock and key my darling / Why you got me begging please my darling”.

The production on the EP is just as slow paced as Tomi’s vocals but with a touch of Afrobeat and Reggae Dancehall on “Waiting” and “Hurricane” (featuring Buju Banton) respectively, not forgetting the Reggaeton vibes on “GoGo Dancer”.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to your ears Tomi Thomas on Hopeless Romantic, sip your liquor, juice if you may and relish the moment. Enjoy!
