Burna Boy’s “Destiny” to be played on U.S president-elect playlist inauguration today

Burna Boy (born Damini Ogulu) is one of the very few carefully selected artistes set to feature on the playlist of United States of America president-elect, Joe Biden’s playlist on January 20 (today) during his inauguration.

The song by the Self-proclaimed African Giant to make the 48-song playlist is “Destiny” of his Grammy nominated album, ‘African Giant’.

“Destiny” showcases Burna Boy’s resilience and determination to keep up the good work, musically and life-wise, and keep striving in spite of opposition and challenges he might encounter along the way.

That exactly is one of the main focus when D-Nice (one of the song’s writers) and Raedio was commissioned to choose a playlist for the Biden-Harris inauguration.

An excerpt from the official statement released by CNN reads: “The playlist is a part of the Presidential Inaugural Committee’s push to provide opportunities for Americans to participate in the inauguration from home after the Covid-19 pandemic forced them to scale back traditional events.”

This won’t be the first time, Burna Boy has had his song(s) feature on a U.S president(-elect) playlist as he has seen favor twice on former president, Barack Obama playlist.

Ex Minister kuye dies at 78

Ex Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sen. Jubril Martins-Kuye, on Sunday morning passed on, matured 78.

The clergyman’s political godson, Sen. Lekan Mustapha, representing Ogun East senatorial region in the Senate, affirmed his demise.

PDP makes seyi makinde leader of the party for South West

The Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State said on Saturday that it would underwrite Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as the head of the party in the South-West.

Giving the sign after a gathering with Governor Makinde in Ibadan on Saturday was the Deputy Chairman of the PDP in Lagos State, Alhaji Waliu Hassan.

Hassan, who praised the exceptional job of the governon during the gathering, vowed individuals’ faithfulness to him as a power to deal with in the South-West PDP.

A previous House of Representatives part, Rita Orji, while tending to writers after the partners’ gathering held at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, encouraged the governor not to yield in his positions of authority. “It is the full structure of Lagos that is represented here. Out of 19, we have the representation of 12 local government chairmen. We also have 17 complete non-working committee members of state exco here present. We have the deputy chairman of the party here. We have the secretary, legal adviser and the entire party structure of Lagos State here. This is a complete House of PDP, Lagos State.”
