Cardi B gets criticised for purchasing an $88,000 purse

Cardi B receives hot-ice reception to her purchasing a purse worth $88k

Published

on

Belcalis Marlenis Almánza, better known as Cardi B is in flex mode as she buys herself a purse worth the sum of $88,000 and one would think that would be embraced by fans all over the globe as Hip-Hop and Rap as a genre usually entail a lot of braggadocious lyrics accompanied by a lot self-righteous words but the reverse is the case as many have taken on the internet, especially Twitter to spill their thoughts out about how disgusted they are regarding Cardi’s latest purchase and how it does not prove reasonableness on her part, especially in these economically and financially trying times.

In the utmost sense, Cardi B does not owe anybody an apology with regards to how she chooses to spend her money but ‘concerned’ folks on the internet think otherwise. Cardi tweeted about her latest 88k dollars purchase with the words: “Should I spend 88K for this damn purse ? Omggg it’s tempting” and since then it has been a fire on the mountain situation among Cardi B versus fans who feel she deserves it versus critiques who blast her for purchasing a purse at that grand sum.

Cardi and fans who truly believe the purse should be bought at that price since it would increase in value and worth annually as noted by the “WAP” rapper herself.

Other well meaning fans have come online to back her up with evidence showing how she (Cardi B) has been instrumental in many people’s lives through the years, showing screenshot of her donations to charity organisations in the U.S and beyond, when she visited Nigeria last year. Cardi B even showed proof of her donating $1 million to charity foundations for the less privileged in just two months ago and at such fans believe she should not be criticised for spending her money in such manner.

Others believe, those complaining are just bunch of misogynist because they always fail to appear anytime the opposite gender – men – decide to splurge their wealth in cars, chains, wristwatches, strip clubs and the likes but only come online to offer their unwarranted 2 virgils anytime a female artiste, especially a rapper treats herself to her own “hard earned” money. Check some of their tweets below:

On the other end of the spectrum, are the critiques who pleasure themselves in finding fault, as minute as it might be, in what Cardi B chose to do with her money. They accuse her of being insensitive and tone-deaf in this covid era. Some even points out, their criticism of her is not based on hatred but on the fact she that she is not remorseful and her resistance against accepting crticism. Check some of their tweets below:

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper really is sorry not sorry regarding the current hot-ice reception she is receiving thus far and like she said on the previously mentioned song: “I don’t dance now, I make money moves” and that is her goal as he boldly reinstates her cause to getting the $88,000 Birkin purse: “Definitely buying the bag now.” Even teasing fans: “Sooooooo……do ya want me to show ya the purse?”
