Buju’s long awaited EP, “Sorry I’m Late”, is here

Published

on

Buju also known as Buju To Your Ears, comes through with his much anticipated debut body of work, the Sorry I’m Late EP. The EP is a very impressive project all-rounder, from Buju’s vocals to lyrics to the complimentary productions to match his midtempo to slow singing pace, Buju really made a statement with Sorry I’m Late.

Expressing strong-will to continue to conquer the music scene, climb up the ladder (as it were) and acheive whatever he sets his mind to is the predominant theme of Sorry I’m Late. However he didn’t make his statements or lyrics rigid to the ears of the audience, rather he glides smoothly on each and every instrumental of this EP, switching flows, patterns with the aid of his lovely vocals; The Cavemen. are the only featured guest act but quite a few producers work with Buju in making sure Sorry I’m Late comes into fruition, they are Timi Jay (on “Daniel Benson” & “Never Stopped”), Rexxie (on “Kilometer”), Steph (on “Ogechukwu”) amongst others.

Sorry I’m Late has 7 total songs exclusively written and sung by Buju except the 5th one (“Ogechukwu”) on which he received the assistance of The Cavemen.

American legendary rapper and business mogul, JAY-Z, adds 3 Nigerian songs to his playlist curated on Tidal, a streaming platform owned majorly by him. The 3 songs are: Free Mind, Mood and Feeling.

Free Mind is sung by Tems, taken from her 2020 released EP – “For Broken Ears”, the third track to be precise; although no solo song by Buju made it to the JAY-Z playlist titled “Block Vibes”, he would however be the most featured Nigerian act on the playlist as he lands two songs, thanks to the mega features from Wizkid—Mood—and arguably one Nigeria’s song of the year in Feeling by LadiPoe.
