BET Recognises Omah Lay as “Amplified International Artist” of the Month

BET Amplified International Artist for November is Omah Lay.



31st of December 2019, if you asked anyone who Omah Lay was, only a handful of people, which included family members and close associates would be the ones to answer that question.

Fast forward to March 2019 when singer, Stanley Omah Didia, professionally known as Omah Lay, dropped his widely acclaimed and commercially successful EP, Get Layd and from there, his success has known no bounds.

From amassing over 120 millions of streams in audio and video views, Omah Lay is gradually becoming a household name. His hit songs – “Bad Influence”, “You” and “Damn” – have all become listeners’ favourite.

July of this year, a whole new category was created for “Africa Rising Artist” which Omah Lay was honoured to have been their debut cover artist.

Adding to that feat, Omah Lay as yet once again climbed higher heights by BET with the honour of BET Amplified Artist for the month of November, in BET’s words: “a seal of approval on the next big thing in music”.

As if the goodies of the month wasn’t enough, American R&B artist and rapper, 6lack, graced the remix of his hit single, “Damn” which was released today, (November 6”

Ckay Inks Warner Music SA Deal



Fast rising singer and producer, Chukwuka Ekweani, known professionally as Ckay and has the very catchy producer tag of “ckay yo” finally is getting the recognition he truly deserves as he signs a record deal with Warner Music South Africa.

The very talented singer, an alumni of Chocolate City has producer credits for various artists including M.I, Davido, Blaqbonez, Amaarae and many others. Earlier this year, he released his smash hit single “Love Nwantiti” followed by the international remix. He also has 2 EPs to his catalogue.

His transition from producer to singer has been met with positive reviews and warm welcome in the music industry, scoring him his biggest collaboration yet on Davido’s “A Better Time” album on the track “La La” and now, the deal with Warner Music South Africa.

The announcement was made via Warner Music SA Twitter’s page, an announcement that also leads to another grand announcement, they noted he will release his upcoming album with the label.

Ckay is making wise use of this as he upcoming braces up to release his anticipated “Boyfriend” EP soon.

Ikechukwu Announces Engagement to Fianceé



Rapper and actor, Ikechukwu Onunaku, known simply as Ikechukwu or Killz announced his engagement to fianceé (whose name we don’t know yet) via a post on his Instagram page.

The video which had the words ‘SHE SAID YES’ as a transition text in it and ‘Hi, Ok bye’ as caption need not say much as the very short video already did the major announcement.

Ikechukwu is known for being one of the first Nigerian rappers to go mainstream and also for his roles in movies like The Wedding Party 1 & 2, Oloture and many other songs and movies.

Congratulations to him and his fianceé; Ikechukwu did give a hint of him being in a relationship through a Instagram post with lovey-dovey words as caption on September.

The Experience 15th edition to hold virtually



The 2020 edition of The Experience, an all-night gospel show, will hold carefully as a virtual concert,says the coordinators of the program.

The program, which has become a most loved yearly occasion for gospel music darlings.

Presently in its fifteenth year, the yearly occasion facilitated by the Senior Pastor of House On The Rock, Paul Adefarasin, features multi-gifted and dynamic gospel artistes from various parts of the world.

The previous 14 editions were held at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos and each social occasion arrived at the midpoint of a participation of more than 500,000 individuals, making it ostensibly the biggest gospel show on Earth .

However, the coordinators of the program declared for the current week that the occasion won’t hold at the extensive space in the Tafawa Balewa Square, a choice taken to keep up physical separating in the midst of the Covid pandemic.

The Experience 15 (Global Edition), is scheduled to hold on Friday, 11th December, 2020 virtually, livestreamed around the world, serving as a platform to unify the global Church and establish God’s Kingdom here on earth,” the organisers wrote on the event website.

“Yes, we had the last 14 editions together mainly in one place, yet now we are not apart, we are still in this together as we go global with the #TE15G. There are no barriers and nothing can stop us, our God deserves our praise all the way, and He will have it,” @TheExperienceLG tweeted.

This year’s concert will contain great performances locally and internationally from the likes Don Moen, Tope Alabi, William MCDowell, Tasha Cobbs, amongst others.
