Arsenal signs Brighton’s keeper on loan

Arsenal have gobbled up Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan on loan until the end of the season.

Ryan joins the Gunners to “provide competition and support ” for No 1 decision Bernd Leno, and Alex Runarsson.

Leno has remained ever-present for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, beginning every one of the 19 matches, while Runarsson has shown up and a single appearance in the EFL Cup.

Ryan, 28 had been a normal at Brighton, showing up more than three-and-a-half seasons, however as of late lost his place to Spaniard Robert Sanchez.

The Australian goalkeeper praising his move tweeted:
